6.8 Earthquake In Bengal, Bihar And Assam, Epicentre In Myanmar

KOLKATA:  An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck central Myanmar today, with tremors being strongly felt in Eastern India including Kolkata, Guwahati and Patna.

The epicenter was reportedly located more than the 500 kilometers from the Indian border.

Offices and colleges in Kolkata were evacuated, people there talked of "horrible shaking" and said the tremors lasted at least 10 seconds.

"We felt the tables were shaking," said a young college student.

"Everyone ran away from the classroom, we were like Oh My God" said her friend.
