NEW DELHI: A day before the occasion of Bakra Eid, advertisements of sacrificial goats has flooded the online market. Websites like Qickr and OLX are selling goats priced Rs 3-5 lakhs.
The online sale is attracting eyeballs, with sellers from across the country showcasing the type of goat that they have on offer for sale.
Shakeel Ansari from Delhi has put a price tag of Rs 5 lakh on his goat, the Totapuri goat is two years old and weighs around 140 kilograms informed, Ansari told Express.
“I have put the goat in the online market as I got a good response from both site last year as well. I also believe that this time there are much more sellers of goat online, the online advantage is that you reach many out to many more people than your locality or society. The reason behind the high price is that the goat has Allah written near his neck” said Ansari who runs a plastic material constructing ware house in Delhi.
Similarly, after seeing some his friends going for the online option, Arshad Ali from Bhopal has put up his four-year-old Kyota breed of male goat for sale on Quikr. The Rajhastani breed goat weighs around 150 kilo grams and is up for sale for Rs 3.5 lakhs.
“This is my first time experience for online sale; I have received calls people asking me about the goat from all over the country which is a new thing. Al though I still have put my goat in the Bakra Mandi, it was good to find out that I have more options” said Ali who has a furniture business in Bhopal.
