The ban on gay men donating blood within a year of sexual intercourse has not been lifted for an Orlando blood bank, despite earlier reports. After the late Saturday night mass shooting at a gay nightclub, multiple outlets reported that OneBlood donation center will not be turn away donors, regardless of sexual orientation, because blood types O-, O+, and AB are "especially needed." However, OneBlood released a statement that they are complying with all FDA guidelines and have not lifted the ban.
