At the helpdesk set up by the Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) Thursday, aspirants to Delhi University’s (DU’s) undergraduate courses received some items to help them with the admission process: lists of previous years’ cutoffs for different courses and of the various documents needed. They also got something else — pamphlets outlining the CYSS’s history and goals. The pamphlets, issued by AAP’s student wing, also had a picture of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who “welcomed” students to the task of “nation building”.
The pamphlet stated, “CYSS is an organisation that strives to rise above the negativity surrounding student politics which is primarily due to the nature of the existing student organisations and their leadership. Muscle power, outsiders’ involvement, overt display of money power and other practices have corrupted student organisations and led to public disgust and disinterest.”
